Integral: "comprehensive, inclusive, non-marginalizing, embracing. Integral approaches to any field attempt to be exactly that—to include as many perspectives, styles, and methodologies as possible within a coherent view of the topic. In a certain sense, integral approaches are "meta-paradigms," or ways to draw together an already existing number of separate paradigms into an interrelated network of approaches that are mutually enriching." - Ken Wilber
The Integral Enneagram: is an expanded 3-dimensional view of this magnificent model of motivation, fixation, ego-blocks, and processing. To truly integrate the Enneagram in an Integral approach to life steps well beyond using "Integral" as a Baby-Boomer buzz-word, and takes the process to a new level. The AQAL (All Quadrants All Lines) approach requires more complexity and dynamics than traditional Enneagram (of Personality) teachings, and delightfully offers more levels of accuracy and insight as a reward.
With the goal of consciousness development, and the premise that all roads leading to that goal are equally valid, (Wilber's definition of Integral) we explore these different paths, dictated by people’s natural processing styles or typologies (Enneagram Types).
The Enneagram, woefully misunderstood by most laypeople and unfortunately by many practitioners, is incredibly accurate in illustrating our deepest core motivations and unconscious drivers. What we do as a result of those motivations and drivers is a completely different story, and unfortunately the story many people focus upon.
When the Enneagram is used to model motivations and drivers, observed behavior makes sense. When the Enneagram is used to label people’s behavior, the model is reduced to a parlor game. |
Enneagram: a nine-pointed geometric figure. The term derives from two Greek words - ennea (nine) and grammos (something written or drawn).
It is believed that the Enneagram is of ancient origin, possibly from within Sufism, while its introduction in modern times is credited to G.I. Gurdjieff. Gurdjieff used the figure in his teachings as a symbol that represents fundamental universal cosmic laws. These included many aspects of dynamic shifts and combined forces, which modeled the natural world in remarkably accurate ways. The figure is now used for various purposes in a number of different teaching systems. In recent years the figure has mostly come into prominence because of its use with what is often called the Enneagram of Personality. It is extremely important to note that this is but one school of thought, ironically accepted by many as "THE" Enneagram, although it is in fact only a small aspect of the study.
Our Mission:
To provide practical processes for individuals to further their consciousness development and evolution. Expanding the traditional Enneagram to a new level of evolution (a three-dimensional Integral Enneagram) gives us a model to facilitate this development and evolution for anyone who participates in our process.
